Scholarship Program - Official Rules
ELIGIBILITY: The Asymmetrix High School Band Scholarship is open to high school - age student musicians who are in their senior year, are enrolled in their school band program, maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA), and are a student in good standing at their academic institution. Students must be nominated for one or more of the instruments included in the instrumentation provided in section three of the Official Rules. Students will complete Essay and audition video/DVD for scholarship consideration. Please note: Your high school band must participate in an Asymmetrix Event for students to be eligible for this award.
NOMINATING CANDIDATES: The high school band director may nominate students by completing the Nomination Form, accessible through www.Asymmetrix.org. Students may be nominated for multiple instruments as listed below in section three of the Official Rules. A nomination form must be submitted for each instrument, but may be mailed in one package. The Scholarship Package must be postmarked by the deadline published. Forms postmarked after the deadline will not be processed. Nomination Forms will be considered ineligible if they are illegible, excessively incomplete, or if any of the following are not provided: the three Agreement signatures, the nominee’s grade level, the nominee’s GPA based on a 4.0 grading scale, and the nominee’s Essay. Information submitted other than that requested on or for the Nomination Form will not be considered during adjudication. At least one e-mail address must be provided on the Nomination Form in order to receive the confirmation. Asymmetrix is not responsible for illegible, incorrect, or missing e-mail addresses resulting in the confirmation not being received. Asymmetrix is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, postage due, or damaged nomination materials.
AWARDS: $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to band students. Students playing the following instruments will be eligible for scholarship.

  1. Scholarship Package: Students will mail scholarship package by due date to the Asymmetrix Scholarship Foundation and include the following information:
  • Nomination Application
  • A Video Tape/DVD of student instrumental audition (see Audition Guidelines)
  • Essay (see Essay Guidelines)
  1. ADJUDICATION: Directors from the top university band programs in the country will make up the adjudication committee. A list of adjudicators will be placed on the Asymmetrix Entertainment web site.
  2. AWARDS: Asymmetrix Entertainment will award several $1000.00 scholarships to selected students.
  3. GENERAL RULES: Students must be graduating seniors. Students must be active members of their high school band program. Students must be nominated by their high school band director. Students must have at least a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0. Scholarships will be awarded only to students from bands that participated in Asymmetrix’s National Band Competitions.
